2006 2 days of guest lectures in Malaysia on German animation:
-The One Academy, Kuala Lumpur
-University Sultan Idris, Tajong Malim

"During my stay in Malysia 2006, I was also invited to the University Sultan Idris in Tajong Malim, approximately 100 km north of Kuala Lumpur. Hassan Muthalib, the great Malay animation professor, was accompanying me on my trip to this very Malay institution.

As an institution, which mainly concentrates on educating students for their role as teachers in secondary art education this provided a very different experience:
Showing the work of German independent animation artists to these students as a possible example of different career paths and options!
Mostly this was greeted with a sense of wonderment by the nevertheless very
interested crowd - but we might have planted the seed of passion for the art form
in a few of them-who knows!

Again, we were greeted with extreme friendliness by the university and all of its representatives. Thanks for hosting us and to Goethe Institute Kuala Lumpur, Dr. Volker Wolf; without whom this excursion would not have been possible. Thanks as well to my dear friend Hassan, tireless in his enthusiasm for all things animation and the most perfect host imaginable!"
